This policy supplements other more detailed policies that provide an ethical and legal framework for all employees in the conduct of Rollins Capital Ventures Ltd (T/A MSS Security) business. We define Corporate Social Responsibility as ‘a concept whereby we integrate social and environmental concerns into our business operations and in our interaction with all our stakeholders.’ We are committed to adopting best practice in this area.
The Company aims to operate according to the following guidelines:
- All business will be conducted lawfully, transparently and in a socially responsible and ethical manner.
- MSS will operate to protect the environment and the safety of people.
- MSS will support and promote Human Rights.
- Our business activities will engage respect and support the communities and cultures with which we work.
Business ethics and transparency
- MSS will conduct its business in an open, honest and ethical manner. We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and our practices are designed to maintain excellence in our daily operations. We will not tolerate any corrupt practices.
- We will advise our customers, partners, stakeholders and suppliers of our Corporate Social Responsibility Policy and we will work with them to achieve consistency with this policy.
- We will implement practices to measure and audit performance with regard to our Corporate Social Responsibility policy. We are committed to a policy of continuous improvement.
Environmental health and safety
MSS are committed to protecting the Health & Safety of all individuals affected by our activities, including our employees, contractors and the public.
Our Health & Safety policy strives to provide a safe and healthy working environment and will not compromise the health and safety of any individual. Our goal is to have no accidents and mitigate impacts on the environment by working with our stakeholders and others to promote responsible environmental practices. In support of our Environmental Policy we have adopted the following practices:
Energy – We will always seek to reduce energy consumption where practicable by encouraging a responsible approach towards heating, lighting and other electrical equipment such as computers.
Materials – We will monitor key stationary and paper consumption in order to make savings where possible. Water use will also be monitored to identify reduction strategies.
Vehicles – Standard Operating Procedures will reflect best practice regarding vehicle use and fuel consumption. Driving practices take into account the environmental impact of fuel. Constant review of fuel use and type, vehicle maintenance and vehicle replacement programs seek to reduce the impact of vehicle use on the environment.
Waste – We will recycle as much of our waste as we can by ensuring compliance with Local Authority initiatives relating to waste management and re-cycling. We will seek to be proactive with regard to waste management.
MSS will provide clear communications on environmental matters both internally and externally.
Protecting the public
All MSS contractors are trained in their role in protecting the public as part of their ongoing training and by following the guidance set out by the SIA.
MSS contractors are aware of how their role interfaces with the police, other emergency services and authorities.
The company and management have a good working relationship with the Police. Two of MSS management hold NVQ Level 2 for personal licence holders which goes into detail regarding protecting the public.
Risk assessments are carried out at each venue to ensure the safety of the public, customers and stakeholders.
The company sponsors the pub and club network. Management attend the pub and club network meeting to ensure that they are up to date with all local news and information that may be shared by customers, clients and stakeholders.
MSS will work within its area of influence to promote and protect human rights. We will not tolerate human rights abuses and we will not engage or be complicit in any activity that solicits or encourages Human Rights abuse.
Our policies are designed to build trust, deliver mutual advantage and demonstrate respect for human dignity in all relationships we enter into, including respect for cultures, customers and the values of individuals and groups.
Our Equal Opportunities Policy reflects our commitment towards developing a diverse workforce where everyone is treated fairly.
MSS will integrate community investment considerations into decision making and business practices. We will actively seek to assist in a local capacity to develop mutually beneficial relationships with communities.
We will encourage employees to be active in the community. We allow reasonable requests for volunteering time, subject to the needs of the business.
We will encourage and strive to provide employment as well as economic opportunities within the community where we operate.
Implementation, monitoring and review of this policy
This policy will take effect from 23rd April 2012. Senior Management has overall responsibility for implementing and monitoring this policy, which will be reviewed on a regular basis following its implementation and may be changed from time to time. Relevant data will be collected to support this policy. Personal details provided by employees or job applicants for the purposes of equal opportunity monitoring are confidential, will be kept apart from all other records and not used for any other purpose.
